For a quick recap of the weight bet I made with fellow Team Online member Spacegravy, see this post. The quick version is that we made a $10k bet at the end of July in which I had to drop from 204 pounds to below 180, and he had to go from 165 pounds to above 180 by the end of the year.
Here is the photo I snapped this morning:
Weeeeeeeeeeeeee. 25 pounds in 10 weeks, not bad. I’m not sure why the date is wrong on the scale as it was correct in my picture in my last blog post (let’s at least hope the weight is still correct). I do still have to keep it off for the rest of the year as our official weigh in is scheduled for January 1st but I don’t think I’ll have too much trouble. I just have to fade Thanksgiving and Christmas, and since our Thanksgiving plans are pretty much nonexistent at this point, it really just comes down to Christmas. My hope is that I can lose maybe around 5 more pounds before Christmas and then I don’t have to worry about being too bad around the holidays. I don’t plan on pigging out or anything but I do have a weakness for wifey’s delicious Christmas cookies.
My long term goal is to get below 158, because that will mean a total of 100 pounds lost, and 100 pounds just sounds like such an awesome number to say. Besides, according to BMI, the top end of my healthy weight is around 158 pounds anyway, so it seems like a good goal.
It has been really helpful that my wife jumped on the weight loss bandwagon with me in July, and has lost 20 pounds as well. It really is so much easier when both partners are helping each other out and encouraging each other. Thanks wifey!
