Cooper and I tagged along with George (twist my arm) to the PCA tournament in Bahamas a couple weeks ago. While there, I had the pleasure of meeting several other Team Online players, their significant others, a few Team Online big wigs and random other poker affiliates. Much to my surprise, my blog presence was repeatedly requested. So, here I am!
I must start with an apology to those present at Virgil’s BBQ (I think that is the name?) for that horrific shot I ordered everyone! It was supposed to have peach schnapps, not Red Bull. LOLOL. What can I say? I am an old lady. My bar hopping days have long passed. And, apparently, my memory passed with them.
This is where the Supernova Elites relax after a long day of play… As usual, PokerStars does not disappoint. We have been here five times? And always we are set up at The Cove. It’s quite nice. Last year, we discovered Starbucks next door at The Reef – a welcome find!!! I, myself, am not a coffee drinker but it is nice to have a breakfast option under $30/person. FYI for those who come to Atlantis – there are Nassau grocery stores that will deliver to your room. Genius.
Views from our room….
Typically, George is done playing by the end of the first day. But this year, George finished 79th for his first Bahamas cash. Whoop, Whoop! But this also meant that he was working over half of our days there. Which meant a whole lotta beach time for Cooper and I. When we were not at the beach, Cooper supported Daddy by wearing his patches. Maybe you saw us?
He was a busy guy at the beach…..playing in the sand, running from the surf, destroying any castles I built, etc…
So by noon, he usually ended up like this!
After George was done working…you guessed it. More beach time.
I know George has posted about his weight loss progress. Check out these two pictures. The first is from this year and the second is last year in the Bahamas. Pretty inspiring! He makes it look easy. No workout routine – just simple calorie counting. And alot of will power, obviously.
For us, no trip to Atlantis is complete without a trip to Twin Brothers for a fried conch dinner, a Lilliputian style photo on the Atlantis chair and dinner at Nobu.
We finished out the week with that Nobu dinner followed by the PokerStars party.
We don’t usually attend these parties but since we had a babysitter for the evening (an Atlantis provided service – so fantastic), we decided to check it out. A fun evening. It was quite crowded. There was a surprise flash mob (Gangnam Style, of course), entertainment by these guys in head to toe white outfits (I have no idea)
and ended with a fireworks display.
Throw in some food and free booze for a bunch of happy poker players (and their other halves). LOL
There was talk of attending a hockey game for us Vancouverites now that we are all back. Let’s make that happen! Should be a fun time.
P.S. Anyone have any suggestions for a catchy title phrase on my blog entries? Something besides “wifey.” LOL
